Hi Maryanne, Not sure if you remember me or not but my name is Helen. My son Peter was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma and was also treated at MSKCC by Dr. Meyers. He was 25 years old. We spoke a few times, but our expressions showed everything we really felt. I don't know how I came about finding this site, but maybe it was for a reason. My son Peter also lost his battle to this dreadful disease on August 18th, 2013. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and cry. Maryanne I just want to extend my condolences to you and know that I truly feel your pain. You can email me at Just hoping you are well. This truly is a parents worst nightmare. I guess 1 day at a time.....1 breathe at a time......and we will always honor them and keep their memory alive. Be well, best regards , Helen

Just thinking of the Macaluso's today and wanted to share a verse in which I've taken great comfort. Gone From My Sight by Henry Van Dyke I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone" Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" My thoughts have been, and continue to be, with you all. Colleen
